Mana Mission Group
To provide fundraising opportunities to support a variety of Mission activities both in New Zealand and in the Pacific Islands.
This group evolved from the local branch of the Catholic Women's League and its work in the community and its association with an overseas mission station in Nausori in Fiji. When the CWL was disbanded the Mana Mission Group was established to take over this work.
Meetings are held three or four times a year to arrange fundraising (usually 2 block bookings at the Lighthouse Cinema at Pauatahanui and a Christmas Raffle.
The bulk of the money raised is sent to Nausori mission station but local charities are also given consideration – e.g. The Sisters of Charity, 2nd Chance School, New Settlers, Neo-Natal Unit etc.
